Maharani Soyrabai, was a prominent figure in Indian history during the 17th century. She was the queen consort of the Maratha Empire, which was one of the major powers in India at the time. Soyrabai played a significant role in shaping the politics and administration of the empire.  She was married to Shivaji Bhosale, the founder of the Maratha Empire, at a young age.  After Shivaji's death in 1680, their son Sambhaji ascended the throne. However, Sambhaji's reign faced numerous challenges, including conflicts with Mughal forces and internal political turmoil. Soyrabai, being the queen mother, stepped into a significant role in the administration and acted as a regent for her young grandson, Rajaram, who became the next Chhatrapati after Sambhaji's death.  During her regency, Soyrabai displayed remarkable political acumen and skill in managing the affairs of the Maratha Empire. She formed alliances with various regional powers to strengthen the empire's position and ensure its survival in the face of Mughal and other rival forces.  Maharani Soyrabai Bhosale's contributions to the Maratha Empire cannot be understated. She was a strong and influential figure during a turbulent period, and her political astuteness helped to safeguard and consolidate the empire's power. Her legacy as a capable administrator and regent continues to be remembered in Indian history.
